Church of Loretan Virgin Mary in Bratislava

Ursuline nuns who came from the monastery in Vienna and Cologne to educate the daughters of the local townspeople and aristocrats gained this originally a Protestant church from the 17th century, which is located in the centre of Bratislava. Ursuline nuns built the main altar of the church with a statue of the Madonna, which is an exact copy of Our Lady of Loreto in Italy. Timber from which the statue is made comes from the Holy Land. The Ursuline monastery is attached to the church. The whole complex belongs to the cultural monuments of the city.
