Kálmán Mikszáth Memorial House

Kálmán Mikszáth Memorial House is located in the centre of the village Sklabiná (in the district of Veľký Krtíš). In 1847 there was born Kálmán Mikszáth - one of the most widely read Hungarian novelists. He is the author of the following novels: St. Peter’s Umbrella, Black Town, etc.. The Exhibition of Museum of Hungarian Culture in Slovakia is located in the house where this luminary spend crucial period of his life – his childhood and students years. The exhibition presents his life and literary work as well as the life in Sklabiná in the 19th century.
