Grasalkovič Palace

Rate it Thanks for rating

A luxurious Rococo palace in the centre of Bratislava was built in the 18th century for Count Anton Grasalkovič who was a consultant of the Empress Maria Theresa. At present the palace is a seat of the President of the Slovak Republic. Behind the palace there is
a first-class French park that is a favourite resting place in an otherwise busy city. A statue of Maria Theresa, fountain Youth and Avant-Garde sculptures from contemporary artists decorate the park. In the park there is also an avenue of presidents where every head of state plants a little oak tree at the occasion of the visit.
