Evangelical College in Prešov

Historical Evangelical College in Prešov, together with the Evangelical Lyceum in Bratislava are certainly the most prominent Protestant schools in our history. It was founded in the second half of the 17th century as a counterweight to the Catholic University of Trnava paying for an important center of culture and education in Slovakia. The college was briefly transformed to the Evangelical university - only in the country - many celebrities have studied our history, for example, Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav, Michal Miloslav Hodža and Jonáš Záborsky.
